District 18 in Iowa Senate overwhelmingly told the Gov. he cannot bribe the Republican Party into power.
I think this refers to the special election which was held to fill a state senate vacancy created when our Republican Governor appointed the Democratic incumbent to the Utilities Board. The implication is that our Republican Governor only offered (bribed) her the better position with the intent of gaining another seat in the State Senate through a special election since it was a Republican leaning district.
Muscatine has a new Mayor, is he a conservative, perhaps yes, is he a liberal, perhaps yes. Is he in favor of Muscatine growing? Is he a Native, yes. Does he have a BIG JOB ahead of him, yes. Lets all give him a chance. Will you?
