I checked the weather on the journal website. The current conditions have been NA for days now. WTF?

Just my thoughts as a reader: Their website has really fallen in quality lately. That's just one example, nedl. Another are the links to stories (or obit names) that stay on the homepage forever. When they last transformed it to make it operationally like the QC Times, their sister paper, it began a downward trend then. In the QCA there is more happening, so the links/stories on their site change out. Not the Journal's.
Also, when they changed to a morning-delivery paper, it changed shifts and deadlines for some of their staff, who now have to work evenings to meet morning deadlines. That's one reason you can check for obits in the late evening and that seems to be when new ones are posted. And there are hardly ever any new stories from Sat to Monday when they are closed, unlike the Times, who seem busy all the time. I know some Journal employees there who really aren't happy now.
Even their bicycle-laden editor gets argumentative with posters leaving comments on stories. Sophomoric jabs at posters from such an elitist is most unprofessional. Maybe they just need to stick to editing?
But....online is free, and as they say.....ya get what ya pay for. |
