OHP 103 LC is listed as first managed by John Howes of Davenport. Now the manager of the cirporation/agent is Nancy Coon of Davenport. They have owned it since 2001.
BTW, mallconent...your buddy in the Sec of State's office gave me this information.

What is to become of the abandoned churches in Muscatine? I'm thinking in particularly of the one on 6th and Walnut and the one on 6th and Iowa. Both were nice buildings in their time.
6th and Walnut appears to be unrepairable. The owner is listed as OHP 103 LC. Have no idea who that is. It's on the tax rolls. Based on how the city has dealt with other run-down properties, I would think they would order it demolished.
6th and Iowa is in much better shape and occasionally there seems to be work on it. It seems to have been transferred to a private owner and is back on the tax rolls and no longer a church.
Are there others?
If they are both on the tax roles, they are not churches so what is the big deal? If they are abandoned, personal property the city will deal with them in the manner that other abandoned propeties are dealt with and in the time frame that the city has determined to deal with abandoned property. Don't worry you little head about this matter.

Abandoned Church = Hotel California?
Here's an interesting piece from "Snopes.com, rumor has it":

Read all the way to the end to find the real meaning of the song.

It's interesting to discover what occupies the mind of the liberal. Such questions about unoccupied churches reveal much. |
