I hope he is taken very good care of in jail if you know what I mean.  Probably not the first innocent animal that had the misfortune to cross his path.  Give me a bat and five minutes.  Hear that jail residents?  Hope you all love animals;)

Yes, this person is very sick, and this may be one time when we wish Bubba (in jail) to have some fun with him.  There is an underlying problem that this may bring to a point as well.  Did this sick mentally deficient man do this to show his girl friend (wife?) an example of domestic violence?  Drag her out to the back yard and show her what would happen to her if she didn't do what he wanted.  

He needs help, but a little vigilante work done on him first.

We'll see how the court system handles this here. I worked in the SF Bay area for a number of years. A man beat a little child to death in the area after some sustained abuse. He was sentenced to 24 months and given a mental hospital stay/reprieve. Then, in a fight with a girlfriend, a guy threw her small dog out of a car window onto the 101 freeway that immediately killed it in traffic. He was sentenced to 5 years. So what is the value of the human life over animals?
