After watching the TV tonight I must conclude the thought of becoming a Democrat appears possible.   The Republican candidates are very unusual at best.  None, I repeat NONE are Presidential material.  Oh my God, what have we done?

Don't abandon all hope.   Perhaps all these crappy Republican candidates for President will lose.  Perhaps some of those crappy Republicans in the House and Senate will lose.

Perhaps the remaining ones will realize that concentrating on making Obama look bad even at the expense of the rest of us is not their best strategy.   After all, they can't use it to prevent his election the third time.   Perhaps they will realize that working with Obama and doing things that are good for the country as a whole is better.
Perhaps there will be laws enacted to reduce the power of money in elections and make our votes count for what they were meant to count for again.

If there is a just God, it chould happen.

"Perhaps there will be laws enacted to reduce the power of money in elections and make our votes count for what they were meant to count for again".

Laws can't overturn US Supreme Court decisions; and apparently you forgot how they ruled on Jan 21, 2010. The power of money in elections was set in stone by the court then.

Too complicated for laws to stop it.  Look at our local Iowa House, one of the lowest ranking elected positions on a national level.  We put Lofgren in a position, where he was able to say I'll make jobs, only to find our he was running under the radar, and had and did nothing.  Putting him in ony created disfunction of the entire process.

We elected Obaba 3 years ago under the hopeful intent he would accomplish change, and big money stepped in to lobby and defeat both's efforts. Big money put Lofgren in to do nothing and protect pollution, and big money put Obama to create change only to be stimied by big money again.

Either way big money rules and to borrow an old expression: Money goes to Money, and shit goes to shit.
