Daughter just flew out to Pitt to see her brother and family for the weekend. Flights are less often and intentionally overbooked now so the flights are always full. She got to Chicago and found the Pitt flight overbooked. She went on the delay list. They put her up in a airport-Hyatt hotel free and bought her dinner and breakfast, and gave her an additional $400.00 flight voucher to be used for anywhere in the US for up to one year, and got her out on the first flight to Pitt this morning.
And that is their profit strategy? Daughter wins, but are airlines making that much profit? And what of the government bailout of airlines? |
