Former President Mubarak has been given a life sentence (he's 84) for crimes against the people, but his sons and associates are acquitted and the military and Intelligence network through which he terrorised the people is still in place and power.

Mubarak and this network were installed, funded and armed by the American and Israeli governments via the National Security Agency, Pentagon and Mossad.

Now the 'Muslim Brotherhood' is seeking to take over the government and calling for protests against the court decision. Only problem is that the Muslim Brotherhood is a front for the American and Israeli governments via the National Security Agency, Pentagon and Mossad.

This is how the game works - many masks, but only one face.

Mubarak's Jailing Prompts Euphoria And Anger

Egyptians are torn between euphoria and anger after the conviction of ousted President Hosni Mubarak.

For some, the knowledge that the 84-year-old will spend what remains of his life behind bars is enough.

But as the details of the verdicts emerge, many are now wondering whether justice really has been done.

Mubarak was accused of ordering the crackdown that led to the deaths of hundreds of protesters during the uprising against his 30-year rule.

But the judge found him guilty only of failing to prevent the slaughter - not of explicitly ordering his security forces to use live ammunition.

His former interior minister, Habib Al Adly, was convicted on the same grounds, while four other security chiefs were acquitted altogether.

So who gave the orders?

Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison.

Mubarak has been sentenced to life in prison

It is a question the trial failed to answer - and one which goes to the heart of the mistrust that has festered in Egypt since the revolution.

There is a sense that the old regime is still being protected.

The acquittal of Mubarak and his two sons over corruption charges has added to the feeling that somehow the case was an elaborate show put on to placate the masses.

The trial was the first of any Arab leader in an ordinary criminal court in his own country.

Some proclaimed grandly that it would set an example - and send a warning - to other leaders across the region that rulers who abuse their power can be held to account.

But it is hard to imagine the likes of President Bashar al Assad of Syria watching the trial on TV and deciding to change his ways.

There was punishment for Mubarak but the absence of any real accountability.

From the beginning of the trial, the focus was narrow - a few days in January and February 2011, when his security forces turned their guns on his people, killing more than 800 and wounding many more.

There was no mention of the almost three decades of repression that had come before.

The frustration over the outcome is likely to add to the unrest in the run-up to the final vote in Egypt's first free presidential election in a fortnight.

The polarising contest will pit the Muslim Brotherhood against Mubarak's former prime minister, a stark choice for many moderate Egyptians who are unnerved by the prospect of Islamist rule and fear a slide back to the ways of the old regime.

The slogans of the revolution were 'freedom' and 'justice', but in the on-going political turmoil of the transition, Egypt still seems to be waiting for both.

Police violently arresting a Jewish teenager in Jerusalem for speaking the truth and charged him for "attacking and biting a police officer" !!! For one American Jewish teenager, this year's Jerusalem Day earlier this month turned out to be an event not to remember, as he was detained for two days on suspicion of attacking and biting a police officer.

"Lucas," a 19 year-old from Philadelphia, cut a rather different figure in the Jerusalem Day flag parade in the capital. Like many participants in the event, he wore a skullcap on his head; unlike the others, however, a Palestinian flag and a keffiyeh were also part of his outfit.
The youth, who arrived in Israel as part of a trip arranged by a Jewish-Christian group, claims he was attacked by a policeman during the celebrations.

The parade turned ugly this year when a small group of participants walked through East Jerusalem, and the Old City's Muslim Quarter, chanting "death to Arabs." Lucas, with a few comrades, stood opposite these demonstrators, and shouted out slogans in support of ending Israel's occupation of the territories. He says that dozens of Palestinians gathered behind him, and formed a spontaneous protest.

In a videotape, Lucas can be seen refusing to give policemen his passport, after he was apparently identified as the leader of the protest. After a few minutes, in the clip, a police officer is seen dragging Lucas forcibly into a police car, "Israel is occupying the Palestinian people in my name, in the name of world Jewry," Lucas, clutching his American passport, tells the camera. "And I myself, an American Jew, is here to say that is completely unjustified and ethically reprehensible.

"And we, world Jewry and all people of the world, will not stop until this occupation ends and until the Palestinian people have their right - the right of return, the right to live without occupation, and equal rights within Israel. That is why we are here."

Israel Police claims the young man attacked and bit an officer - however, the video does not show Lucas provoking any officers. It shows a group of policemen forcing him to the ground and handcuffing him; as a result, he required medical treatment afterward.
For his part, Lucas adamantly denies that he attacked a police officer.

"I didn't bite anyone," he says. "The police officer showed me his cuts [later], but they were caused by a sharp instrument, and there weren't any bite marks."

Lucas was held in detention for two days. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court denied a police request to extend his remand; at the advice of his lawyer and family, the youth left the country after being released.
