I didn't care.   The net flow is still out of Lake Michigan into Huron which is all I said.  You stumbled on a paper that noted during the spring or fall turnover some water flows the other way for a short time because of the difference in lake depths.    Something you don't understand.  It also makes no difference in the percent of pollution in the Gulf that comes from Iowa.

You can see from the llustration below that the flow out through Chicago is only about 7% as much as that which flows into Lake Huron.
