Republican Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) was forced to resign in 2011 after he became the subject of a Senate Ethics Committee investigation related to his attempts to cover up an affair he had with the wife of his best friend and co-chief of staff.

1st Day of the 113th U.S. Congress

" If you don't hold us accountable we'll do some real bad things in Washington, D.C."

Maybe this quote is an example of why most Republicans let their other head do their thinking.

With Republicans taking a page out of the Dem's playbook and not reading the bill before casting their vote, we got no cuts but more spending and a tax on those making 450 thou. This is no compromise and should be voted down in the house. It's doubtful that the senators had a chance to actually read the 157 page bill by early Tuesday morning. I am hearing that there are some giveaways going to green energy in this bill which is more redistribution of wealth with your taxdollars. We do know that this president says "at some point you've made enough money" and considers spreading the wealth around to be "economic patriotism". Seems Barrack's collectivism roots are showing and it's about as unAmerican as you can get. Shhhhhhh....there's a wannabe dictator in the White House.....

The eight senators voting “no” were Democratic Sens. Tom Harkin (Iowa), Tom Carper (Del.), Michael Bennet (Colo.) and Republican Sens. Mike Lee (Utah), Richard Shelby (Ala.), Rand Paul (Ky.), Chuck Grassley (Iowa) and potential 2016 White House hopeful Marco Rubio (Fla.).
