How you gonna ban and regulate cars? Bump. No response, commie mall? We've done some things. Added the center stop light. Improved the crash characteristics. Added seat belts Added shoulder belts. Added them in the back seats Require roll bars when necessary. Added air bags front Added air bags on the sides. Turn signals. Better tires Much improved roads. Paved shoulders. Widened lanes. Divided highways. Better sight distances Better deicing and snow removal. Better prevention of snow drifting. Better signage. Better drainage. Speed limits. On and off lanes at intersections. Rumble strips to keep you awake. Traffic cameras. Limited the time truck drivers can operate. Provided rest stops. We require drivers licenses and testing for them. Better enforcement of drunk driving. Ditto speeding.
I believe all but two of those were done by the government and the impetus was lead by all us liberals.

Almost all of these were accomplished by the individual states (not the feds) - and you would have to show me proof that they were mostly done under sponsorship of liberals. And...if it is true, and I do not doubt it, that autos account for more deaths and injuries in our country than do firearms, why aren't they banned in part or in whole? Why bother banning the small stuff and ignore the big stuff? |
