Rangel: Obama's Record Of Nominating Women Or Minorities "Embarrassing As Hell"
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) opines on the paucity of minorities in President Obama's cabinet.
CHRIS JANSING, MSNBC: The first black president and he's getting questions about diversity. Are these questions fair? Are you concerned?
CHARLES RANGEL: Of course I'm concerned. Any questions are fair and the record does speak for itself. I wonder --
JANSING: Well, if the record does speak for itself, what does it say going into this second term?
RANGEL: It's embarrassing as hell. We been through all of this with Mitt Romney and we were very hard on Mitt Romney -- with his women binder and a variety of things -- and I kind of think there's no excuse when this [is] the second term. If it's the first term you can say that people got to know who is around that is qualified in order to get this job, number one.
I had thought, maybe so, it could be a Harvard problem where people just know each other, trust each other and women and minorities don't get a chance to rub elbows and their reputations and experiences not known. ( Oh well,....whatever.... )
