He/she/it? probably believes he/she/it is a communist. He/she/it won't get into admitting that, as actually "being" a communist cannot be defended if you are in a group that knows history. So he/she/it will be staying away from that.
It's kind of like not admitting you are a member of the mafia. Hard to defend, but you secretly believe it's OK, since it advances the well being of a select few at a terrible expense. |
