Apparently there is a large effort to make illegal the large capacity magazines for rapid firing weapons. Lets think about it; do we need, say, a 50 round magazine to hunt ANY animal on this planet, other than humans, do we need a 50 round clip to target practice with, do we need a 50 round clip to make a rifle look right when mounting it for decoration? All answers are no, we don't. So why is a 50 round clip needed at all?
The answer is that the size of the clip won't be needed until we are being attacked by someone in a fire fight, and then may not be needed either. In Muscatine the highest probability of a firefight would come from a SWAT team attacking your home. No outlaws function as a assault firefight team. Even though in Muscatine some SWAT teams do in fact attack innocent people's homes, this is rare.
Just because of reasoning, I don't care about large capacity magazines, so outlaw them. I care and worry more about the mental health of those who are charged with enforcing the laws, as they have the right to carry whatever they want.
ANYONE that carries a weapon, designed primarily to kill other humans needs to be mentally sound. Look at other countries, children die for political or religious reasons all over the world, and yes, there are many more ways than guns to kill.
