Surprised nobody had much to say about this, especially those who served in the military.
I served, but never in combat action. My point of view is limited in that regard. I think this article has strong merit and is factual.
I served with females and had two female Army MP patrol partners, and one when I was an investigator. All three were decent looking (not manly), and had more guts and credibility than alot of males I served with.
They had different physical fitness requirements than men did back then, but that had no impact on the jobs we did. But again, that was not combat. Had a few hairy situations, tho.
In the submitted article, the systems/logistics seems to have failed. If these conditions had not existed, women would have been fine there, I think. I somehow don't think the situations related are the norm.
Alot of it comes down to the make up of the individual.
