After listening to all of those Zimmerman news comments, I must state that had this trial occurred in Iowa the verdict would have been the same. The issue isn't about guilty or not guilty, its about Judges changing the law. The Judge gave the Jury a very limited verdict arena. Guilty, Not Guilty, Manslaughter. He gave no other possibilities. The jury could have made perhaps a completely different choice if they had the chance.
So what happens if the Jurors would have decided on Murder 1, or reckless driving. The Judge would have thrown the case out and ordered a mistrial. This happens a lot in Muscatine.
Maybe we should reconsider the "method" of justice?
