He's hoping most voters are dumb enough not to notice:

Obama delays health care enrollment until after the midterm elections

Obama delays health care enrollment until after the midterm elections

If you remember yesterday’s discarded Democrat talking points, the decision reported by USA Today is nothing less than terrorism.  Barack Obama is taking millions of people hostage.  That was the official Party line on anyone who wanted to delay ObamaCare, until they found it vital to do so.  And everyone knows exactly why they’re doing it.  I’d say this was the most embarrassing example of naked political maneuvering I can remember, except I haven’t forgotten what Harry Reid did in the Senate yesterday.

The start of the 2015 enrollment period under President Obama’s new health care law is being pushed back a month, from Oct. 15 of next year to Nov. 15 — just past the 2014 congressional elections.

The decision does not affect current enrollments for 2014.

Administration officials said the delay will give insurers more time to assess the experiences of the first year of the plan, helping them set polices and rates for 2015; they also noted that many people may enroll late for 2014 because of problems with the Healthcare.gov website.

Really?  There are problems with Healthcare.gov?  That will come as news to anyone who believed yesterday’s Administration lies, because they used to loudly insist that the only problem it had was excessive popularity.  Then they started spreading all these crazy stories about how the whole thing would be totally ship-shape by November 30, and that left plenty of time for everyone to get enrolled.

You may also recognize the rotting pile of stale horsefeathers left over from last week, when President Obama declared he could “fix” everything by inviting insurance companies to ignore the Affordable Care Act for an extra year, and pinky-swearing to protect them from prosecution by the gigantic regulatory apparatus he has created.  That silly effort to create some talking points has also become inoperative, in part because there haven’t been many takers.  A lot of state insurance commissioners flatly refused to implement Obama’s illegal “fix.”  One of the few willing to give it a shot, in the ObamaCare stronghold of California, was over-ridden by the new layer of regulation Obama’s dopey law created.  Awkwaaaard!

Besides the desperate desire of the Administration to be seen doing something, anything, to stay on top of the ObamaCare crisis, the idea here is to delay the horrific “sticker shock” from higher 2015 premiums from hitting the public on the eve of the midterm elections.  Insurance premiums for a lot of people will be going up, a lot.  The “death spiral” from older, sicker people making up the bulk of the paltry few ObamaCare enrollments, while the Young Invincibles run for their lives, will be reflected in some combination of even higher premiums and insurance industry bailouts.

When those higher prices become known, the American people will become as angry as… veteran House Democratic aides.  Politico observes their reaction to sticker shock from the ridiculous law their bosses forced upon an unwilling nation:

“In a shock to the system, the older staff in my office (folks over 59) have now found out their personal health insurance costs (even with the government contribution) have gone up 3-4 times what they were paying before,” Minh Ta, chief of staff to Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.), wrote to fellow Democratic chiefs of staff in an email message obtained by POLITICO. “Simply unacceptable.”

In the email, Ta noted that older congressional staffs may leave their jobs because of the change to their health insurance.

Under the Affordable Care Act, and federal regulations, many congressional staffers — designated as “official” aides — were forced to move out of the old heavily subsidized Federal Employees Health Benefits program and into the District of Columbia’s health insurance marketplace exchange. Others designated as “unofficial” were allowed to stay in the FEHB program. Managers had to choose whether aides were “official” or “unofficial” by Oct. 31, and Ta said that wasn’t enough time to make an informed decision about who would benefit and who would lose out by going into the new system.

Oh, the poor little dears.  Let’s try to get as many of them into the private sector as possible, then find out what they really think about the “Affordable” Care Act.

You can see why Obama will move heaven and earth to delay this kind of outrage until the public no longer has anything to say about it.  Of course the man who lied into your face dozens of times about how you’d be able to keep your health plan is going to rig the system, to keep you from finding out just how much his Big Lie will cost you… and taking it out on his political party.  Why, if you knew the truth in October, you might just vote in a Congress that can save you from ObamaCare, and we can’t have that.

Just to remind everyone:  The Republicans offered the dems and obumbler a trade off before the government shut down.  Extend obamacare enrollment for a year in a trade for no shut down.  The dems and obumbler turned it down.  Now the obumber and libs are going to try to extend it for a year.  Doesn't that mean that the shutdown really never needed to happen?  All they had to do was accept the republican offer for the extension then, instead of "thinking it up" by themselves now.

obama and care cannot be used in the same phrase or sentence. It is not so.

"You know in the action movies when the hero is just pummeling the bad guy and the bad guy is reduced to knocking stuff down in the hero's path just to buy another step of retreat because he knows the jig is up?  That's Obama delaying the enrollment deadline for a month.  Abject panic and desperation."  If it wasn't so pathetic it would be highly amusing.
