Muscatine

Muscatine can boast the fact that it is the only Socialist City in Iowa.  Our own local Government owns the water company, the local electric company, the local cable company.

No other community can boost this, government for the people by the people, who have no say as to what their life support utilities dewcide.   Yes, a local appointed board, that is a popularity appointment by the Mayor, no idea of qualification ability.

Does the Mayor run the city council and the Administrator run both? 

Muscatine does not own the natural gas utility. So Muscatine is truly not a Socialist city. As for your dumb broad-brush statement that Muscatine is alone in the state in owning water, electric, and cable tv services; a very simple one minute search revealed these others that own theirs too:

City of Osage.

City of Harlan.

City of Aldona.

City of Hawarden.

City of Cedar Falls.

Cities of Hartley, Paullina, Primghar, and Sanborn are utility-connected by a community utility agency that owns theirs.

City of Manning.

City of Ellsworth.

City of Indianola.

City of Spencer.

Why not do a little research before embarrassing yourself? You look like a fool and lose credibilty when you make untrue statements like you have here. What is your point anyway? Cities and districts owning their utilities is what keeps utility rates lower for everybody.

You forgot to answer the remaining question.  Does the mayor and council run the City Administrator, or does the City Administrator run the Mayor and City Council?
