Will the bikeway take some different routes with the bridge changes? We must make sure to keep & capture the great historical essence of the city, but also for our bike and walking pleasures too.

Bikeway way to show city pride
The bikeway has to be built. Ideally, I would like to see bikes go from Woonsocket to Pawtucket to Providence and conclude in Newport. Downtown Pawtucket, Central Falls and the Blackstone River are fantastic historical areas. However, when is the project supposed to be finished? Is the money available? How will the bike paths be connected to Riverside, Bristol, and Newport? By Tony Sheriff |

Bits & Pieces- serious Bikers?
There are efforts to connect all as they are built, but Pawtucket's bikeway plans seem to change and yet, little indications when it will be. Providence connection is still in Limbo with the Blackstone Blvd folks and the DOT is talking about closing the Henderson Bridge too as well for Pedestrian and Bike traffic as the Washington Bridge is being worked on. It might be worthwhile to get some of the bikeway folks and greenway folks to come down to chat and perhaps move us up a bit. Cumberland folks connect to the rest stop on 295 and go on down to the Kelley House etc... By Arthur |
