To add to the wonder of graduating from Pawtucket high schools, the senior portfolio interviews will begin about May 23. Senior students will be giving a five to eight minute speech to teacher panels on why their portfolios should be accepted by the Pawtucket School Department and the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The final day of school is June 13 along with the prom night. Graduation will not be until June 24-25.
In essence, I would not blame students or parents if the students did not show up for the prom or graduation. The last four years for many students at Tolman and Shea have been ridiculously riddled with needless obstacles. What are the schools testing? Who is being tripped up by these ridiculous obstacles?
I sincerely hope that parents are being notified that their children may not be passing Tolman or Shea because they did not produce the needed number of portfolio pieces.
