Dear Arthur and friends,
The Farm Fresh RI farmers Market open at Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main St., every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. proves a boon to the Pawtucket economy and seems to be the catalyst for retail business the city has needed for 35 years.
The only drawback seems to be city officials need to acquire a shuttle bus from the back west side of the parking lot at Hope Artiste Village, near Route 95, to drive customers up the hill to the Main Street entrance. Parking spaces lack at this facility.
One interesting observation: Hundreds of cars from places such as Maine, Connecticut, and California crowded the market on Saturday, Feb. 7. Secondly, the Providence Journal has given the farmers market in Pawtucket top notch reviews.
Any suggestions, neighbors, as how the city could handle this challenge.?
By the way, the Farm Fresh RI farmers market considers moving into Main Street permanently, if the public agrees.
Peace, Jim
