Truth is that Carcieri was a teacher too, so maybe that is his problem as Captain of the state...Did he fail?
Certainly there are problems, but has he really pointed to solutions other than regionalization and adjusting benefit plans

Dear Arthur, Actually, Governor Carcieri did not survive his three year tenure period as a teacher at East Greenwich High School. By the way, according to the Providence Journal in 2008, the governor's regionalization plan for Pawtucket School Department seemed to include a potential merger of Pawtucket, Providence, Central Falls, and Woonsocket schools - all districts without the collective financial means of decent property and commerical tax bases to successfully survive as a district.

I think they could put it together with Lincoln and Cumberland and save money too. Is this an F again for Carcieri?

February 16, 2009 Dear Mary, From experiences with teachers and parents from Lincoln, I do not think these Republican based areas would be too desirous of teaming up with the lower economic class cities of Pawtucket and Central Falls. In essence, Governor Carcieri would not want to alienate his Republican friends in Lincoln and Cumberland.
