I do not think any of that was reported. She probably just went out to visit a friend because she was too young and unprepared.
We should not judge unless we have walked in their shoes....right Ludlow?

April 11, 2009 Dear Mary, You are correct in your assessment about not judging too quickly. However, from my experiences with unprepared parent-teenagers, I will venture the 21 year old girl's Mom is probably about 35-40 years old. The record for the youngest grandmother in Pawtucket that I know? One grandmother was 24 years old in 1996 and walked her one month old granddaughter into Tolman High School. The baby's mother was 12 years old. One completely horrific thought: I wonder if the 24 year old grandmother is now a great-grandmother at age 37? Could you imagine the nightmares this family must incur on the Rhode Island social welfare system? Happy Easter, Jim |

It is certainly tragic but we can not condone or allow no punishment as these things affect all of us and these kids...young or old. |
