With the 30th anniversary Festival of Historic Houses coming up on Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th, PPS is still in need of volunteers. Many of you have already signed up to help out-thanks so much!-but we still need house guides, particularly on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. House guides are each stationed at a single location within a house and work as a team to guide guests through the house, sharing historical and architectural facts along the way.
Saturday's house tour, on beautiful Stimson Avenue on the East Side of Providence, starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., and is divided into two three-hour shifts. The first, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., is fairly well staffed, but the second, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m., still has several slots available. Sunday's docent-led tours are on the magnificent West End . Tours leave from the Cranston Street Armory every half hour from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. PPS needs house guides to monitor these houses. Keep in mind that all volunteers at the Festival will receive complimentary admission to the Saturday tour during the shift that they are not working.
