The Adams drugs was Samuel Slater's second home in Pawtucket. It was also the Woodbine tavern for many years. The Roger Williams (née Pawtucket) Hotel was at the corner of Main & Roosevelt, and there were a couple of small commercial buildings along Main Street between the two.
Farther up High Street were the 1871 City Hall and the Masonic Building. The Music Hall was not on this site; it was on Main west of High Street and stood until 1970, when Peerless moved out.
The hill was probably removed for the foundations of the buildings that were there. Whatever ground was left beneath that was taken out further for that magic bullet that was going to bring thousands of people downtown, free parking. |

Dear friends,
Who finally figured out that Sam Slater's house was the demolished Adams Drug Store? Does anyone know what famous Pawtucket residents homes were destroyed by urban renewal?
