Become a paid poll worker in 2010
Many of our readers are looking for a way to earn some extra cash. Here’s an opportunity to meet your neighbors, talk with voters, and get involved in your community – and receive a stipend for doing so. The RI Disability Vote Project is working with the Governor’s Commission on Disabilities (GCD) to recruit poll workers (that’s the people who check in voters and distribute ballots on Election Day) with disabilities. We’re looking for outgoing people who want to stretch their minds by learning new skills. Working with the Board of Elections, we will facilitate pre-training on poll worker responsibility so everyone feels comfortable with the process.
