The Rhode Island Youth Leadership Forum is now accepting applications for its 10th annual forum to take place August 9-12, 2010 at Camp Canonicus in Exeter , RI .   

 

The Rhode Island Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is an innovative, exciting program for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities who have demonstrated leadership capabilities in their communities and schools.  For more information, please visit www.oscil.org.

 

The four-day forum includes many activities to help further develop the leadership potential and identify and clarify future goals of students who qualify.  It is held at Camp Canonicus in Exeter , RI .   Approximately a dozen students with disabilities will be selected to participate. There is no cost to students or their families.  Overnight lodging, food, interpreters for the deaf, personal care attendants for students with physical disabilities and transportation during the forum will be provided.

 

An application which may be copied and handed out to any interested student is attached to this email and is also available at www.oscil.org.   We appreciate your assistance in getting this information out to students who may wish to apply for this beneficial program.

 

Completed application packets should be postmarked no later than March 31, 2010 and sent to RIYLF, c/o OSCIL, 1994 Warwick Ave , Warwick , RI 02889 .

 

The Youth Leadership Forum is a cooperative project between the Office of Rehabilitation Services, Ocean State Center for Independent Living, PARI Independent Living Center , RI Regional Transition Centers and other state and community organizations.
