On Monday April 26, 2010 beginning at 6PM a public input/information session will be conducted at the City Council Chambers in Pawtucket City Hall . This public input session is one of the last steps in the process of the Pawtucket Police Department’s efforts at being nationally accredited from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
At this informational session members of the public are invited to offer comments regarding their opinions and experiences with the Pawtucket Police Department. As prominent members of the community we are asking that you or someone from your organizations be present at the meeting and provide comments regarding the work that you do with the Pawtucket Police Department. We are hopeful that you will be available to assist us with becoming nationally recognized as being “one of the best.” Your comments will be addressed to two CALEA assessors who will offer their opinion on whether the Pawtucket Police Department should receive CALEA certification.
The assessors will be visiting the Pawtucket Police Department from April 24-27, 2010. They will be examining all of our policies and procedures, equipment, physical building, conducting interviews with selected personnel, etc.
If you are unable to appear in person you may place a phone call to express your comments/opinions. The assessors will be taking phone calls from 1PM-3PM on Monday April 26, 2010. The number to call is 723-7465.
If you have any questions please let me know. I hope to see you on Monday April 26, 2010 in the City Council Chambers.
