Shea Raiders,
We have an extraordinary week here at Shea this week! First, Ralph Mollis, Secretary of State came to Shea on Wednesday to unveil plans for a state wide ballot for teens on October 19th, catalyzed by our own Public Administration Academy--look for it in the papers! Second, the Chinese students from Hengshui High will be in Rhode Island from 6/4 to 6/18 visiting many Rhode Island landmarks and participating in lots of school events here at Shea. We hope many Shea teachers, students and families participate in some of the events involving our guests from China--look for their itinerary in a later email. Third, I'd like to thank all the parents, students and teachers (especially Mrs. Roderick, Ms. Wilbur and Ms. Fisette) for another OUTSTANDING Honors Night tonight. We will be graduating one of the strongest classes in recent memory with the class of 2010! Next week:
1) 5/31--No School on Monday--Memorial Day (Thank a Vet!)
2) 6/1 to 6/7--SurveyWorks! for all students in computer rooms during C block (see schedule attached)
3) 6/1--Upward Bound Graduation (come and see a really first class event for our young scholars at RIC)
4) 6/2--Variety Show!
5) 6/3--English Language Learner Council Meeting
6) 6/5--Chinese students at Roger Williams Zoo (Free Admission for All! All Raiders are welcome!)
