Letter Carriers “Stamp out Hunger Food Drive”
Saturday May 14th
How can you help? It’s simple!
Leave non-perishable canned goods in a plastic bag by your mailbox on the morning of Saturday, May 14th
Your Letter Carrier will pick up the food when they drop off your mail for the day.
Last year more than 70 million pounds of food was collected. Your donations will help ‘stamp out’ hunger.
On Wednesday, May 4, Mayor Don Grebien kicked off the annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive at City Hall with local postal officials and Spumoni’s restaurant, which offers a $5 coupon for a donation of five food items. Look for posters, as seen below, created by students at the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts, on display in local businesses to promote the food drive. Present for the kickoff event were (l-r): Jim Langlois, president, Branch 55, National Association of Letter Carriers; Joe Silvestri, Spumoni’s Restaurant, Pawtucket; Al Rodrigues, customer services manager, and Nicolas Francescucci, Officer In Charge, Pawtucket Post Office; Mayor Grebien.
