Join the memorial service for the violent incident that took the life of one of our Pawtucket residents, Richard Cruz.
Richard was the brother of a member of our Nonviolence Initiative, Cherie Cruz, an active leader in our community.
1. There will be a fundraising memorial event held at the Woodlawn Community Center on Sunday, January 29th starting at 2:00 PM. All proceeds go to the Richard Cruz Memorial Fund to provide for funeral services and related expenses.
2. There will be a candlelight vigil at dusk on Sunday, January 29th, 2012 starting at 4:45 PM at the site of the incident, located at the corner of School and Main Streets in Pawtucket.
We are asking people to bring a candle and donation. Checks should be made payable to: Richard Cruz Memorial Found.
If any organization could provide services to the victim’s family, or contact a grief counselor, who would like to provide his/her expertise to support family, friends, and the community, please tell them to be present at the site of the candlelight vigil on Sunday.
