Blackstone River Watershed Council holds Open House and Rally for watershed protection
The Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone is trying to help voters plow through some of the confusion of statewide bond referendums. This Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 9am till 2pm, the BRWC/FOB will have a Rally for Watershed Protection and open house, in part, to answer questions and solve some of the mystery about two referendum questions, and in part to show off their new Friends of the Blackstone River Environmental Center. Members of the Council and students from Bryant University will be on hand to answer questions about the bond referendum and conduct a survey for new members. The two referendum questions up for discussion are Question 5 on drinking water infrastructure improvements and Question 6, the Environmental Management bond referendum on open space and habitat restoration including a fish passage on the Blackstone River. The event is rain or shine and is opened to all.
