Free Trees for 2001!

You missed 2000, ready for 2001?

Check out Eric's free tree in his front yard-- Northern Red Oak! Saved over $150!
The City of Colorado Springs Forestry Dept has a program to put more trees along public streets when available. All you have to do is call the Dept of Forestry at 385-5942 to put your name on a list.
The City typically gets a few hundred trees in April and gives them out free to the people on the list. This program is in addition to the popular "new home street tree certificates" they give out to new home owners. There are some restrictions and guidelines on where the trees must be planted and min/max distances, etc.
This is a great program for beautifying the neighborhood. Call and put your name on the list!
The website at http://www.colorado-springs.com/parksrec/forestry/forestry.htm also has information and general tree recommendations and care information.
