Should the NFL Use the Rose Bowl?

Bob and Maureen Carlson support the NFL's temorary use of the Rose Bowl (two or three seasons) while a permanent stadium is under construction. The cost of the renovations to the Rose Bowl far exceed the original estimates, and the City needs the revenues from the lease of the Rose Bowl to the NFL for this limited period of time. Without these additional funds, the cost of our utilities and other city services will face substantial increases. An added thought: it would be truly wonderful if some portion of the revenues from the rental of the Rose Bowl could be used to support the athletic programs of PUSD. Our school district is facing another draconian cut in state funding of public education, and it seems only approriate that the NFL help defray the costs of our students' athletic programs. I will propose this to the Rose Bowl Operating Company. Maureen Carlson |

As long it's not a "sweetheart-deal that benefits The Rose Bowl Operating Company and "city" only.
And, ..."could be used ..." should be amended to "should be used."
The Rose Bowl SHOULD be required to make some monies available to be given directly to schools, a re-design of the entry's to the Arroyo that would include Roses..remember "where's the beef?"....Where's the Roses??, a tax that the citizens won't have to pay anymore...something.
