New State Fireworks Laws

Posted in: Garfield Park-South

We do not live in a perfect world. Good luck with trying to get the exact time of allowing fireworks to be set off (around your time)..lol... When your child grows up to the age of playing with fireworks are you going to limit the "time" of lighting them off for your child???..lol come on, be realistic!...lol... Or maybe you will not allow your kid to fire off fireworks, PERIOD!!! Because there is always "another kid" trying to sleep, besides yours during the 24 hour pieriod, I have kids and fireworks never bothered them.. In fact it was a fun time to watch.. aaaaand my kids turned out fine.. Straight A's and Happy life!!!.......11:00pm is ok to limit the time. Why should people walk on "egg shells" just for your convienence?!?! And fireballs???..lol!!! Thats another story! You probably watch too many mystery shows!

Hello,

I know this is an old post regarding fireworks, but are fireworks allowed or not allowed in lawarence township?  the apartments that I live in sent out flyers telling us that fireworks are illegal in lawrence township.  (thinking out loud:  If they are illegal, why does the state of indiana allows them to be sold?)

I was just getting on the website to see if anyone was talking about this subject.  I was so shocked to read that 11 pm was the cutoff time for fireworks on non-holiday days.  Are you kidding?  i have been kept up for the past 2 weeks by neighbors blowing up fireworks after 10 pm.  why would a law be set to keep its citizens up, their children up and frightened and their dogs frantically trying to find a place to hide.   it does not make sense to me.  anyone know how to go about getting this law changed?

I live in the benjamin crossing area and for the majority of the time living here,  fireworks have been fine.  For this time, July 1st thru the 5th it has been horrible.  On speedwell lane their were fireworks that sounded like explosives.  Going all over your house and on top of the house, I had to call the sheriff department,  the neighbors down the street had what seemed to be a party and they continued until 12:30 at night.  Not, taking into consideration their are the elderly, individuals with PTSD, and those with pets or have animals.  Also, their are individuals with certain health conditions such as emotional disabilities that can not tolerated that kind of noise.  The city should set up desinated areas for this type of activity or park areas would be great. I am noy trying to spoil people having FUN but you must take into consideration others as well.  What are we suppose to do...LEAVE OUR HOMES FOR THAT TIME AN LIVE IN A HOTEL.....
