My apologies for the tone of my post last night. I was extremely upset that a parent would let their child do what was witnessed and could only think of what that very parent would be saying if their child was harmed. Facts: Scooter traveling anywhere from 10MPH to 30 MPH, BB or Pellet gun, exchanging shots with another kid, the kid on the scooter gets hit and goes down either on the pavement or into a tree or car or anything else in the way. At the best case scenario, your kid is losing some skin, could be breaking some bones, might even suffer a fatal injury while you are sitting at home not knowing what your kid is doing. Frustrates me a lot, I was normally aware of all of what my kids were doing or at the very least tried to keep up with it. I am not blind enough to think that they would from time to time stray from the norm because we all did and kids always will. Another point to consider is that there are no less than 12 to 15 younger children that live from the corner of Maple Forge Circle/Court and the 59th street entrance. I witness everyday our neighbors speeding through this area, now we have a kid or kids on scooters disregarding reasonable speed limits and now shooting at each other with BB guns. Wouldn't you think it is about time to as adults drive responsibly in your own neighborhood and actually parent your own kids.
