Want to Make a Difference

What's going on? Why don't any of the executives of NCTONA answer their e-mail? What's the point of publishing e-mail addresses in the newsletter if no one is going to respond? I have e-mailed Beke Gray and phoned her. No response to my e-mail and whoever answered the phone when I called just gave me a double ration of (you know what) because she was recovering from surgery which I would have absolutely no way of knowing. Your organization stinks and so does your newsletter.

I'm sorry you e-mailed/phoned Beke and for whatever reason she was unable to reply to you. You said none of the board members responded to you. Did you e-mail or call any other board members or committee chairs? I for one have responded to several e-mails generated by our Web site (Assistant Site Coordinator) or newsletter (Newsletter Editor).

I'm also sorry that you feel our organization ''stinks.'' Since it is a voluntary organization you might want to consider volunteering to be on the board, a committee, or just coming to a monthly board meeting or semi-annual general membership meeting to provide your ideas and input. Suggestions and volunteer help is always welcome.

You also stated that our newsletter ''stinks.'' I think that is an unfortunate remark. Our newsletter has won first place awards in its category for five straight years from the Neighborhood Resource Center's annual Neighborhood Conference. But no matter how good something is, there is always room for improvement. You are certainly welcome to make suggestions.

Since I am the Editor and have been publishing the newsletter for over six years without a break, I have recently been advertising for a replacement. Would you like to volunteer for the job?
