At the last NHCA Board meeting, Mike Lawson, who lives on the High School corner of Marsh Road and Washington Street Extension, showed us some plans that Delaware House of Representative Dave Ennis loaned him regarding DelDOT's proposed plans for that intersection. This plan has not been finalized - it is just a proposal at this point. Some money has been set aside for work, but more must be approved by the Delaware legislature to make this happen.
We are all very excited at the plans, which call for crosswalks and crossing signals and more importantly, the elimination of the right turn on yield lanes which access Marsh Road going north and Washington St. Ext. going south.
This has been a long time coming - members of our community have been trying for years to make this intersection safe for pedestrians. David Ennis has been, and continues to be, a great supporter of NHCA in our efforts to make this intersection safer. Thanks Dave!
