While I am aware of an NES need to keep tree limbs off of power lines, I wonder if anyone else is concerned about the devastation that is taking place in our neighborhood. Trees are not being merely trimmed, they are being cut back to nothing in places where such harsh cutbacks are not necessary. Do we have any recourse?

Of course

The first thing I'd suggest is talking to the workmen or their supervisor. After that, you could call NES, etc.

Per my previous message here, however, everyone living between 44th and 46th and Wyoming and Utah that I talked to, every single person, is anxious to have reliable electrical service again. The trees have overgrown the alleyways to where you can hardly drive your car through. Even modest thunderstorms take out our power as the tree limbs knock the wires together.

Unless we put all the wires underground, we're going to have to cut some trees back. It is certainly possible to do that without turning things into a wasteland too, however.

I love trees and will be sweating to plant several again this year as part of Releaf Nashville in Sylvan Park. Would you or someone you know like to help, November 18th?
