Those of you who signed the petition I put together (and no one refused) regarding the need for NES to address our all-too-common power outages for the houses between 42nd and 46th and between Wyoming and Utah avenues, will be pleased to know that NES plans to begin trimming the trees from Wyoming to Murphy beginning September 1.

NES already found a tree laying across the wires between Colorado and Nebraska (in the alleyway) that may be causing our problem, since it is on our same circuit. They plan to cut that one away tomorrow morning (August 16).

It is done

At least as far as I can tell, NES is finished clearing the electric line pathways.

The teenage girl who lives next door was real upset about one of her favorite climbing-and-hiding trees being chopped way back. And I'd rather have the shade and pretty foliage myself. I didn't make the tree or branch selections.

But I guess when the first ice storm comes or the next big blow happens, I'll be happier to do without those than to live by candlelight and lose refrigerated goods.
