Neighborhood Watch

It's great to see that we have people in our community responding to the newsletter. It is alarming to me that the discussion seems to be focused on home invasion! My top priority was going to be Neighborhood watch, and entrance upkeep. After seeing these posts, it's clear we need to put considerable effort into crime watch and prevention!

I too have had my home broken into many years ago.  Neighborhood awareness can only be a good thing. I would like to see the entrances to our neighborhood maintaned better.  After all this is the first impression visitors and potential home buyers get when they come into the neighborhood.  Hope to make the neighborhood meeting.

My wife and I lived in the neighborhood and in fact still own a home there. We have been trying to sell our house for over a year now and it has since been robbed 3 times. The first time they stole the air conditioner and all the internal copper piping. They also left us a special gift in the downstairs bathroom. After repairing $13,000 in damage we added an alarm system. While this hindered an internal break-in, they took our brand new air conditioner. Most recently (just last week), we were following up after a showing to find our storm door missing. Just ripped off the hinges. I can't begin to tell you the personal aggrivation and expense this has caused. Our homeowners insurance was even cancelled, forcing us into a very expensive high risk policy. It is hard to believe after surveying the damage each time, that the thieves were very quiet in their efforts and that nobody saw anything, but apparently, that's the case. I urge anybody seeing anything or anybody looking suspicios to call the police and have them checked out. This has to stop!

I have talked to 2 off my neighbors , both out of town for the meeting, waiting for info on our next meeting.

I am all for crime prevention,would like to work on our entrance upkeep, I have a pick-up truck to make runs to the Roberts road yard waste dump.

Let we know when we will be doing this.
