In 1996, a group of residents, who were concerned about the current state of their community, cam together and formed a neighborhood organization and called it Neighbors' United. Realizing that if the community is unified there is little they cannot do, for in numbers there is power.
Housed in the La Alma/Lincoln Park community of Denver, it is the mission of Neighbors' United to be an inclusive, resident driven neighborhood organization that purposes to:
Give residents a vehicle to become active in their community, to voice their opinion, develop leadership, and improve the quality of life for their neighbors and themselves.
To combat community deterioration, poverty, discrimination of any kind; To ease neighborhood tensions, assist the poor and underprivileged.
To raise social awareness, educational levels, and the economic means of the community.
To foster and promote community-wide interests and concerns and to come up with innovative ways solving problems.
