We have many children in this neighborhood and teenagers as well as parents are driving through here like it was a highway. Is it going to take a child getting killed before we get a clue and install speedbumps. I witnesses a 4 yr old child getting hit and killed years ago by a vehicle going 25 miles an hour. Can you imagine what could happen going 30, 35, 40, 45. Come on people, this is a family oriented neighborhood, slow down and tell your teenagers to slow down or hand over the keys. Get real and take some responsibility before a child is lost.

MTV Residents chose this particular issue (speed bumps) as requiring priorty concern as far back as November, 1999.  We pressed forward with this and by February 2000, the town considered our request as not being valid.  One of the reasons the town gave was that speed bumps cause delay and even damage to emergency responding vehicles and therefore would not be acceptable for the well-being of this neighborhood.  The MTVC&CWG nevertheless continues to empahsize that drivers observe the 25 mph  posted speed limit.  Also, local law enforcement reinforces this effort and encourages speed limit compliance with occasional TAC patrols.  MTVC&CWG
