It was with great surprise and regret to hear that the SWIL had folded its tent. Unfortantly I was not aware that this was going on behind the scenes and was not able to prevent it before it was to late. This has been a community tradition not just for Salem Woods but also for the surrounding communities like Timber Farms, Summer Hill and Country Creek. Today we have Boys and Girls playing ball in College and on High School teams in the area. I can pass along some good news! I will make every effort to have this leaque back up and running for next year. First of all we will need volunteers to help run the league, I am thinging at least 3 people one to head it one for baseball and one for tee ball. Then I would like at least two or three people to head up sponsers, fund raising and events. I would like to see a Phillies game, trophy day at Blue diamond park, and a couple of other activities to promote community. We will need sponsers in a big way since I am told there is no money in the coffers. We will also accept donations!!! Parents of former players can help here. IF YOU CAN HELP IN ANY WAY NO MATTER HOW SMALL LET ME KNOW!!!! I have been assured by the county the field at the park will remain in our hands.
