We need to be there or they will run right over us

Maybe with liquor they would stay open longer, but who knows if we did limited licenses, it might help...I think the only bar place I recall was the one past the librarynear a parking lot as I have vague recollections only.

You know as we have no parking makes it difficult to have people want to dine and drink..

I would love to see Kafe Lila open later, and if a liquor license makes that more viable, I'm all for it. They have held BYOB events that went until midnight, and downtown hasn't burned to the ground yet.

I've never found parking to be difficult downtown, although I could see it becoming a problem if less of downtown were vacant. We should have such problems!

Agreed...but one thing we also need to worry about is what Woonsocket and others have put in is these Hookah bars....smoking galore thru those pipes...just what we need to attract bad problems and deaths.

I don't know what kind of element Hookah bars might attract around here, but they were very popular in the Chicago neighborhood where I used to live and always attracted a trendy, quiet, usually ethnic upper-middle class crowd. They also tended to be excellent sources of delicious middle eastern food.

Because African food proves extremely spicy, I would highly doubt any RIPTA customer without the taste buds or wallet power would enter Village Restaurant.

I'm a RIPTA rider and have been a consumer of African food (though I haven't tried the Village yet). Not sure of the connection. Also, shouldn't the drinking establishments be closer to the bus terminal, to make drinking and not driving a more palatable option?
