...THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS.

"Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things...", are the opening verses to that wonderful holiday song written by, R. Rodgers and O. Hammerstein, and sung most famously by Andy Williams. Celebrating holidays is one of my favorite things and my most favorite of the holidays is Christmas. There were alot of homes in our community that were wonderfully decorated, some more so than others, but let us not discredit anyone who just decorated with a wreath or candles in a window. Thank you, everyone, for making our community more decorated this year than last. We also have to thank some special guest judges, Dana Chester, who was home for the holidays from college as well as Eric and Amber Purdy.

Now the winner and honorable mentions of the, "2003 Newtown Village Best Holiday Display Ever", contest...

HONORABLE MENTIONS.

6 Marra Pl.
-Wonderful lit sliegh with deer and ice cycle lights.
-The fact that their neighbor also lit with all white lights and so both homes appeared to have a continual theme, (though not done intentionally), really makes these two homes stand out.

8 Marra Pl.
-Lit candy kanes & eye teasing arbor lit with chasing lights.
-The fact that the neighbor also lit with all white lights and so both homes appeared to have a continual theme, (though not done intentionally), really makes these two homes stand out.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S and thank you both for your effort.

For the, "2004 Newtown Village Best Holiday Display Ever", contest, the Newtown Village Service Corporation Board would like to get everyone more involved with not just the decorating but also the judging, (especially having the neigborhood children doing most of the judging). Consider the fun and the memories possible if alot of our neighbors came out together on the evening of the contest and walked /judged the entire community! If nothing else it would be a walk through your community with alot of beautiful sights and a great chance to interact with neighbors. The details are being worked on and will be communicated in upcoming newsletters. If you have any input on this idea, please contact Keith Jackson.

There were many other homes certainly worth noting but I don't have that much time and we don't have that much paper. T H A N K Y O U, everyone who decorated this past season and if you did not this year, maybe next year you should
because it could be the year you win the prestiges title and bragging rights of having been the, "NEWTOWN VILLAGE BEST HOLIDAY DECORATED HOME, EVER"!
