Heavy Construction Permitted On Weekends/National Holidays

Posted in: Addison Circle

Hopefully someone can raise the topic in upcoming ACNA Meeting.

I find it ironic Town of Addison advertises, bills itself as community environment, community spirit, atmosphere and adheres to strong life values, and permits construction north of Aventura on Easter Day. This isn't "lite" construction it's earth movers, backhoes, Dump trucks.

As I walk around Addison Circle and neighboring blocks, heading to the Post Office I don't see similar construction. Maybe construction company negotiated a special permit, which raises the issue, "is there a construction ordinance and if so is it arbitary to whatever contractors pays the most.

I suspect construction will happen on Memorial Day, Mother's Day and other national holidays.

Are there others who feel the same.  If so please raise topic at upcoming meeting as I will be out-of-town on buinsess.

Thank you,

Hi James,

I am a resident of the Circle and would like to know more about city council meetings re: noise ordinances. I just renewed my lease and the bar near where I live has 1) installed a new sound system to accomodate 7 night/week DJ and techno-rave music 2) set up patio outdoor seating right in front of my patio 3) ignored numerous attempts to contact them and turn down the music. As it stands, I only stay in my apt 3 nights/week due to the noise, yet I continue to pay full price rent.

Any contact person or dates for next meeting would be appreciated.

Thanks,
