Volunteers

bleak outlook

This neighborhood is not what it was when we 1st moved in. The ''for sale'' signs all over the development speak volumes, and when you add in all the elephants in the room that the HOA would rather ignore in favor of garbage cans and making the place LOOK pretty, I see no improvement in the future.

Sad, but true.
IVOLUNTEER when YOU can.

I dont believe anyone on the board told you to ''get over it!'' I think that you didnt get the answer you were looking for and all you heard was ''get over it''
These community meetings have been set everytime imaginable. and yet only about 100-150 people show no matter the time. Everyone's schedule is different, but that doesnt not mean that you still dont have access to the board members to address your concerns and to get answers.
And i refuse to think that out of 600+ homes, there are only 50 people (and that is stretching it) that has time to volunteer to do something.
The ones who are saying they want to move are the same ones who dont volunteer and just sit back and complain. If you are so disgusted with the neighborhood, why not move now? Why wait until the constructions over? McIntyre is a great neighborhood to live in, I enjoy my neighbors. I am on two committees. I see dedicated people in these committees who have full time jobs, multiple children, numerous activities outsied or McInytre. They volunteer because they love this nieghborhood. They volunteer becuase they want to make this place a great place to live. But 50 people cannot do it alone. As for the speed bumps, not only do they cost money,(and if the dues go up to pay for that, thats another complaint waiting), but that is also the cities call. There has to be so much traffic coming in and out in a certain time frame for the city to put in speed bumps. But if people went to the meetings or even went to the board to speak about these issues, they would get the answers. There are 7 days in a week 24 hours in a day, there is surely one day out the week that you can spend doing something productive for the neighborhood. Try to help find solutions to our problems instead of just pointing the problems out. We have a nieghborhood watch and a pool committee and a board that tries really hard to keep this neighborhood safe and fun, but its hard when we only have 20-25 members who are active in all three committees to handle everything.

Sorry you feel that way

The trash cans are the LAST thing the HOA has on their minds. There are the ammenities that Centex are trying to ditch is with and the saftey issues in this community. If people would attend one of the open meetings they have, then they would see that. Please stop assuming why people move out. We dont know why, it could be one of numerous reasons. Things change over the years, nothing stays the same. The trick is to change with it, while making adjustments to make it a safe and enjoyable place to live.
What elephants?

Could you please explain what the elephants in the room are that the HOA is ignoring? I have yet to hear an issue raised that the HOA has not addressed numerous times and continues to address. But if there are unaddressed issues, I'd like to hear about them. I seriously would.
Thank you
Peg
