Our Neighborhood

Posted in: Dilworth Chase
I have lived in Dilworth Chase for 3 years. One good thing I can say that has come out of the problems we have in our neighborhood is that it has brought a lot of us together as friends, and more people have realized the problems we have in our neighborhood. The retention pond is an eyesore that Beazer left us to deal with, it will affect the decisions of potential home buyers in the future. Several of our yards are eroding which is going to cost a lot and may affect the sale of our homes. Our mailboxes are fading and look bad, we need more trees. The speeding in the neighborhood is dangerous and can prove deadly for the children in our neighborhood. Some of the yards are overgrown with weeds. It is costly to take care of a yard, but it affects everyone when potential home buyers ride through our neighborhood. It causes ant hills, bugs, it is an eyesore. Some of our neighbors have gotten together to work with a lawn service to do their lawns for them and could reduce the cost of the lawn service.
A lot of people in the community have a problem with the Management company. There are some problems that may need to be addressed directly with Tim and then there are problems that we are going to have to get together as a community and contact the builder about. They left us with a retention pond that is a dangerous, it has snakes and mice, our yards are eroding, if you dig in the yard it is nothing but rock, they gave us promises that they knew they would not deliver. We need to work together and address those problems with Beazer.
A separate issue is that some have with the home owner?’s association board. Please attend the annual meeting for 2007. Let everyone get their point across and speak at the meeting. I have been to several meetings and have seen total disrespect for the board members, I personally had some issues I wanted to discuss and could not get out because of the arguing.
When I went to the meeting in June,I had high expectations that we were going to work together on this neighborhood and finally have a positive meeting and accomplish something. Instead I could not get one word or idea out. I felt that the board members were attacked personally and were disrespected. They are doing something that NO ONE volunteered for in the past meetings. Again, please attend the meeting in 2007 and vote. But be respectful to the other homeowners and the board members who have issues they need to discuss.
I care about the future of this community and base my future votes on the behavior I have seen in the community and in the meetings. I am happy with what I have seen of our board, they represent what I want to see when I ride through a neighborhood in their attitude and their homes.
The board held the meeting in June to discuss the aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood. Some in attendance wanted to discuss what should have been discussed at an annual meeting and avoided the important issue facing our neighborhood. Please attend the annual meetings and the issues that can be brought up and possibly resolved then.

We all realize that our home is our greatest investment and a lot of us plan to sell our homes or use the equity in our home, I am concerned with the neighbors our community is going to attract, and we have to work together to make sure our neighborhood looks the best it can. Our property value is my main concern. I do not want to take a loss on my home when I sell it. Our homes are selling for much less than they should be, or not selling at all. I want our neighbors to want to stay here, and stop seeing For Rent and For Sale signs EVERYWHERE, I want to tell any buyer that this is a great community to live in, and know that I have been honest with them.
We need to find a way to work together and make our neighborhood a peaceful place to live.
Thank you, 1534 Ladora

Thank You!

Thank you for letting others know what we are truly facing as homeowners and business owners. We all have a stake in the others properties and in the community, and if we do not recognize that, then we have all made POOR investments.
