The Southfield Police Department is currently in the process of revitalizing the Neighborhood Watch Program. They believe the benefits of the program will include: 1.) Allow citizens and the police to work together to reduce crime and to improve the quality of life in the City of Southfield. 2.) Allow neighbors to get to know each other and work together in a program that benefits their neighborhoods and the entire community. 3.) Increase a sense of ownership and pride in the neighborhoods. 4.) Allow the concerns of neighborhood groups to be shared with the Police Department. 5.) Allow for two-way communication between neighborhood groups and the Police Department. The Southfield Police Department has invited Northland Green Association and the other 133 Southfield Neighborhood Associations to attend an informational open house on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southfield Library Auditorium, 26300 Evergreen Rd. The Southfield Police Department is asking that you contact Roger Butler, Southfield Police Neighborhood Watch coordinator at 248-796-5415 to reserve a seat.
