Alicia went to a SAWS meeting to get applications for Free water saving toilets. SAWS will give you a week to pick up after you qualify. The neighborhood will get $25 per toilet picked up. The deadline for the program is December 15, 2008.

2009 Officer Nominations are going to be in November. Board brought to the members to add an officer on the Board. We would have to amend the By-laws to add the President Elect position. The board wants to change the meeting date to the 1st Tuesday of the month from the 3rd Wednesday. The meeting change will be voted on in November along with the Officer Elections.

Joaquin Castro will be having a Town Hall meeting November 5th, 7pm at Gilbert Garza Community Center. Justin Rodriguez will be invited to attend.

Alicia talked about National Night Out.  The feedback received was that people would like more social events to take place in the neighborhood. The board is planning a "Neighborhood Fiesta" on April 4th, 2009, Saturday, from 10am - 4pm. Food would be sausage in a tortilla and possibly nachos. CPNA will participate as a fundraiser as well as the host. Gabe with District 7 office and Officer Orosco offered to donate piñatas filled with candy.

Officer Orosco suggested having a raffle for Fiesta baskets and charge $1 per ticket as a fundraising opportunity. Residents to ask for neighborhood businesses to donate prizes.

Alex asked about the status of the non-profit application. Alicia will be working to get the application finalized and submitted as a goal for early 2009.

In December 2008, CPNA is hosting an X-Mas Party, Thursday, December 4th, 6pm at Garza. Santa will hand out small stuffed animal gifts and photo opportunities will be available for parents to take pictures of their children on Santa's lap. Ray has volunteered to play Santa. Santa will be delivered by the SA Fire Department to the community center. The party will be called "X-Mas with Santa"

The November meeting will have a speaker from the Sierra Club, Loretta Von Copenal. Alicia will invite the NISD District Two Trustee and NISD Chief of Police.

Lulu will be sending an e-mail to explain to the yard sale vendors that the situation at Sul Ross and the Northside Police Department will not happen again.

Lulu called the Zoning Commissioner regarding the tattoo shop on Culebra and El Centro, to let them know we will not fight the Zoning change (C-3 na). The C-3na zoning means that no one can open a bar once the tattoo shop is no longer there.

SAFFE Officer Orosco will be setting up a surveillance camera to catch taggers and give out citations.  COSA is buying PO-Cams to catch taggers on film. These cameras will alert detectives of taggers up to ten feet away from the camera.

The Park Police will be coming to the November meeting to talk about lighting on the walking trail and near the pool.  The pool lights are not on at night.

Park Police said that no one patrols from the Park Police between the hours of 3am - 7am.
